Emergency roof repairs

Roofs don't fail at convenient times. When water is coming in, what you need is someone who answers the phone and knows what to do. We take emergency calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week, across Ipswich, Colchester and the towns in between.

The first job is to stop the water: a temporary repair or a weatherproof cover to protect the inside of your home. Then we come back, find the cause and fix it properly, with photos you can send to your insurer if you need to.

What counts as a roofing emergency

  • Water coming through a ceiling or light fitting
  • Tiles, slates or ridge tiles blown off in a storm
  • A chimney pot, cowl or part of a stack that's loose
  • A tree or branch that's come down on the roof
  • A flat roof that's split or lifted and letting water in
  • Anything loose that could fall and hurt someone

How we do it

Done properly, step by step

  1. 01

    Call any time

Ring 07864 367325. You'll speak to Lee or the team, not a call centre.

  2. 02

    Stay safe

Turn off electrics near any water, move valuables, and put a bucket under the drip. Don't go up a ladder in the wind or rain.

  3. 03

    Make it watertight

We make a temporary repair or fit a weatherproof cover to stop more water getting in.

  4. 04

    Photos for your insurer

We photograph the damage before and after, so you have the evidence for a claim.

  5. 05

    The proper repair

Once the weather allows, we come back and fix the cause properly, with a written quote first.

While you wait

If water is coming through a ceiling, turn off the electricity to that area at the consumer unit. A bulging ceiling can be holding a lot of water, so keep people out from under it. Catch drips with buckets and towels, move furniture and valuables, and take photos of the damage inside for your insurer.

Please don't climb onto the roof yourself, especially in wind or rain. Most roofing accidents happen to homeowners trying to do a quick fix.

Storms, insurance and what to photograph

After a storm, photograph the damage from the ground and inside the house before anything is moved, and tell your insurer early. We can supply photos and a written quote for the repair. Insurers usually treat sudden storm damage differently from wear and tear, so a clear record from the day helps.

Our storm damage page has more on how claims usually work.

Not every leak is an emergency

A small damp patch that appears after heavy rain is worth sorting soon, but it isn't always a middle-of-the-night job. Call and describe what you can see. We'll tell you honestly whether it needs us tonight or can wait for a proper look in daylight.

Prices

What affects the price

Every roof is different, so we don't put prices on a website and then add extras later. Lee looks at your roof and gives you a written quote, free, with everything included.

"Had a slate roof tile come off during last storm. Contacted Lee and he replied within a couple of minutes. Came round to have a look within 30 minutes and returned the next day in terrible weather to replace the missing tile. Very good service as two other people I contacted didn't even bother to reply. Would highly recommend."
